You are a creator not a victim of circumstance
ByMankind has asked the question over the centuries, what is reality? The concept of reality has changed for mankind over time. For the last 400 to 500 years, in the west, science says that reality is something that is observable and quantifiable. Anything that does not fit within those parameters is not real. In other words if you and I do not get the same data from an observed event then it can not be. Science has attempted to define reality for a long time but there seems to be so much evidence that escapes scientific criteria.
But it seems that many scientists are coming around to the fact that with its present doctrine and dogma it may not have all the answers. Not only does science not have all the answers but they may never be able to answer many of the questions that arise. I think that we are moving in a positive direction when scientist are now making statements about the nature of reality being outside of what is now science. The question of what is reality is at the fore front of the mind of man again.
Science and a New Concept of Reality
Not too long ago an award was given by the Templeton foundation which is a philanthropic organization dedicated to, as they say, “discovery in the engaging of life’s biggest questions, These questions range from explorations into the laws of nature and the universe to questions on the nature of love, gratitude, forgiveness and creativity.”
They gave an award to a French scientist by the name of Bernard d’Espagnat who says that “science can not fully describe reality”. This gentleman has obviously expanded his concept and definition of reality.
Our concept of what is real is going to have to change in order for mankind to move forward and develop. Science tends to box in our thoughts on reality. Religion boxes in our thoughts on what is spiritual. They both have their limitations and they are both limiting our development.
The 5 senses are not all there is to reality and religious doctrine and dogma is not all there is to spirituality. There is so much to being human that we share and are objectively aware. There is also so much of our experience that is personal to the individual that we do not share. It does not make the experience any less real, it is simply our personal subjective experience and even though we may not share the experience it is reality. What is considered “real” is changing. Are you open minded enough to explore the possibilities?
As a matter of fact our subjective reality is basis that our universe is built on. Science already says that the observer is a definite cause of the observable reality. They have run countless experiments that show that the observer affects the outcome of the experiment. In other words the observer creates the outcome. That sounds so much like make believe. If that is true why would we not want it to be real? Why would we not want to have the ability to create our lives as we wish? Why would we not want to experience joy and the ultimate fulfillment of our purpose everyday? Why is it so easy for us to hand over our experiences to a being that manipulates and watches our every move?
As Humans We Have a Legacy of Experience
I believe that as humans we have a need to feel there is something more than just us. A need to believe that there is something bigger that has a grand plan in our lives individually and collectively. I understand that need. What I don’t understand is for so many of us to have the need to turn the responsibility of our lives over to that bigger thing. Personally I moved away from the concept of religion having the answers because I felt limited and beat down by many of the negative concepts that were espoused. Intuitively I just knew that was not the way that I was meant to live.
I believe that since I am part of the human race that this concept extends to us all. I believe and know that there is a force bigger than me. I also believe that this force is a source of empowerment for me. I believe inorder to connect to this force I must have a love for me and all that I am, faults and all. I also believe that this force will aid me in my quest to have a positive and beneficial influence on those around me and in my sphere of influence.
I believe that this force acts on me and me on it. Not because I am favored any more than anyone else, but because that is how the laws of the universe work. Since you are reading this I will assume that you are as human as I am. I will boldly state that this force is no different for you than it is for me. Nor is it any different for mankind. I understand the need to feel there is something bigger than us and there is.
Science and Religion Have Limitations
I use examples in science and religion simply because it is something that we all are familiar with. They can also confirms many things. However, I do not allow either to confine my concept of reality. I realize that I make my reality in every sense of the word. Does that mean I never feel sad, angry, depressed or any of those “negative” emotions? No it does not.
As a soul in human form that is part of my and our legacy as humans. As long as we inhabit this reality we will be subject to being human and all that entails. I allow for my imperfections. I don’t beat myself up over them. I don’t condemn another because of theirs. I have realize that we are all perfectly human. An oxymoron? Yes, but it is real. It is our reality. Science and religion will have to change in order to accommodate this fact.
The only way science and religion will change is if we demand not to be boxed in. You are a soul living a human experience. Can you think outside the box that was given to you? Are you brave enough to see your subjective experience as valid, even when others don’t have your view?
Are you a brave soul?

Thoughts on reality and how we should expand our concept of what we view as reality

![Reblog this post [with Zemanta]](http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_e.png?x-id=e3216ab7-1f75-4ad9-bd23-4e2d776c0cb8)
Reginaldc, I share your view of reality. The beauty of knowing that reality is created by our own perception of it, is that we have ultimate freedom in shaping the Universe around us.
I believe that Source, or Infinite Intelligence, of which we are an extension, gives structure and substance to our creation, following specific Universal Laws, but we are ultimately the creators of our life experiences. Each one of us having their own individual reality, and at the same time crossing path with a shared reality, in which we all agree to share a similar experience.
We are the artists (creators), molding the clay (Source), to create the masterpiece (our reality).

Well said Palma. I am watching a video on google by Bruce lipton. He is talking about the new paradigm in biology. Again scientist are now coming to the conclusion that we have an affect on our reality. The new paradigm is that beliefs activate the genes in cells. If a cell is cancerous then our perceptions is what activated it. We are powerful beyond our beliefs. Soon we will be getting this information in all facets of our life. It will be a new world then.
You are right, Reginaldc. The power of our intent is astounding, having an effect on both our outer and inner world (the body). It’s wonderful that all this information is available to everyone, until enough people will make a shift in consciousness. By then, it will be a new world indeed!

[...] The laws of the universe are about us working with the base component of existence (which is energy) from a metaphysical standpoint to bring about physical changes that we desire. Understand there are other metaphysical realities that exist. Physical reality is a component of the existence of our true being. It is not the ultimate existence. Since we are energy at the base level of our physical being and energy can only change states and not be destroyed, then how can our physical body be all there is to existence? We had to come into existence from somewhere from an energy source. When the body dies that energy can only change states. Even parts of science is starting to finally realize that physical reality can not explain all of existence. [...]
