ahhh, the arrogance and judgement of the religious. A sermon in text.:)

<strong>"I do respect your beliefs and you have every right to believe what you want, but I tell you all this because this is the TRUTH"</strong>

How can you respect my beliefs and the proceed to tell me that I need to get on board with what you believe?

My friend, your truth is not mine. I am glad that your beliefs work for you. My beliefs and my truths are sufficient for my spiritual walk. Know that everyone's walk is different and subjective. It is human nature. My truth is that chocolate chip cookies and milk is absolute heaven, but to a diabetic it may be hell! No matter how I may try to convince a diabetic of the greatness of chocolate chip cookies and milk it will not work in their life. Every one of our life experience is subjective. It is the same spiritually. Jesus is your savior. for me his teachings are what is important.

Religion, controls and separates people. It have never brought us together.

2 Peter 3:3-7

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

From your comments, you are one of these scoffers! Furthermore, you HAVE to either believe one of three things (anything other than these would be illogical and contradictory): 1. Jesus was a lunatic 2. Jesus was a liar 3. Jesus is God in the flesh who came to save mankind, just as He said so (see below):

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6)

Also, in John 3:13-21:

13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Also in John 8:24:

23And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

24I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Also in John 10:1-2:

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Also in John 11:25-26:

25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Also in John 12:44-48:

44Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Also in John 15:1-6:

1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Finally, no one talked more about Hell than Jesus! One of many where Jesus warns us of Hell is in Mark 9:43-48:

43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

44Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

45And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

46Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

47And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

48Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

49For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

50Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

If you truly follow Christ's teachings, then follow them - even those that contradict the "you are your own god" theology.

Finally, only Jesus was ever worshiped. See below:

# Matthew 2:11
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

# Matthew 8:2
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

# Matthew 9:18
While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

# Matthew 14:33
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

# Matthew 15:25
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

# Matthew 28:9
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

# Matthew 28:17
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

# Mark 5:6
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

# Mark 15:19
And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

# Luke 24:52
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

# John 9:38
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

In Acts 10, though, we see:

25And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

So Peter, being an Apostle of Jesus, refused worship, because he knew he was only a man, NOT God or a god.

If you really follow Jesus, then believe Him. You don't have to listen to me, but read His word - it is just too plain to see who He was. Don't condescend to call Him a good man with good teachings then say that He wasn't who He SAID He was and that He died for nothing (for this is what you say when you say we each are our own god - you say He died for nothing, because we can save ourselves or that we don't need to be saved because we're all ok after all).

I do respect your beliefs and you have every right to believe what you want, but I tell you all this because this is the TRUTH - I used to be in your boat, thinking my goodness could get me by just fine, but I also had to face the truth in God's word. Don't wait to face that truth till it's too late! God bless you and show you Himself!

Take care, Reginald. Let me know if you want to talk again (I'll visit your site periodically). Until then, I'll leave you be with your beliefs. But I beg you, PLEASE seek Christ while you can!

My friend I appreciate your concern for my salvation. Understand that I believe very strongly in the teachings of Christ. However, I have no such affinity for Christianity. Christianity is not meant to teach salvation but to control through fear of retribution. Jesus teaches this:
Luke 17:20 and 21
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within[a] you."

What he means is the kingdom of heaven is personal. it is within me. You can try and define it for me but in reality it would be your kingdom at that point. You arrogantly believe you know What MY TRUTH should be.

I prefer to practice the teachings of Jesus and other great teacher like him rather than follow Christianity or any religion. I no longer have faith there is a God. I KNOW it is in and around me. I grew up Christian, but then I grew up.

Well, if Jesus wasn't who He said He was, then He didn't have to die, and we Christians are the most pathetic of all peoples. But, if He is God, whom He claimed to be, then, you've better make sure you've got the right way. As for "we are gods", this is from Psalm 82:6, quoted by Jesus in the Gospel of John. Here's Chuck Smith's commentary:

This is a direct reference to Exodus, chapter 22, where God does refer to them as Eloihim, which is translated, as I said, judges, but it is the Hebrew Eloihim, gods. Now Jesus quoted this in the gospel of John when the Pharisees were getting ready to stone Him. He said, "I've done a lot of good things among you, for which of these things are you going to stone Me?" And they said, "Not for the good things, but we're stoning You because You being a man are continually making Yourself the Son of God." And He said, "Well, I said that ye are gods. Why should you stone Me because I say I'm a Son of God?"

Also, go on to read the next verse, where God tells the people, though they are gods, they will die like men (though they have authority they will perish like everyone else). If you take this to mean that you're the god of your own world, then ok. Satan told Eve the same thing, that she could be like God if she just disobeyed and ate the fruit. Now, we're paying for that mistake.

As for the Catholic Church (I was raised Catholic and know what it says) says that salvation is never assured. That, if you are a good Catholic, doing all the rituals, you'll end up in purgatory being purged by flames for some time (no one knows how long), then you may end up in heaven. However, the Bible states:

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

If the Catholic Church were truly Christian, they would teach what the Bible - what you say they supposedly gave us - says. However, just as I mentioned above, they teach a salvation by works and rituals theology (again, I was Catholic, raised, for twenty years, I know this! And if you were taught Catholicism, you should realize what I'm telling you is the truth!).

Now for some Catholic history: Emperor Constantine saw a crumbling Rome in the face of a rising Christianity, no matter how many Christians were killed. He fought for conquest of Rome and succeeded because of a supposed message from God. The symbol he said he saw during his conquest in Rome was the ankh, similar to a cross, but a symbol from ancient Babylon. He never taught repentance of sins or belief in Christ, but only sprinkled water on his soldiers and suddenly they were "christians". Furthermore, the Catholic Church, during its many inquisitions and crusades not only killed Jews, but also Bible believing Christians who said their God and Savior was only Jesus, not the Pope. Also, many of the ceremonies introduced by Constantine into his Catholic religion - the wafer as communion, infant baptism, prayers for the dead, confessionals - were taken from pagan practices, given different names and called Christian. Even the Mary and baby Jesus statue was taken from the Babylonian religion of Baal worship, where Semiramis claimed to be the Queen of Heaven (Jeremiah 7:18 - "The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead [their] dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.") and her son Tammuz the reincarnation of her husband Nimrod (also worshiped as the sun god, Baal). You can read all about this on the website.

As for the Bible, the there were two renditions originally: 1. the Textus Receptus - written by Christians in Antioch who believed in the Deity of Christ 2. the Alexandrian text written by Gnostics in Alexandria, Egypt who downplayed Christ's deity, His virgin birth, and salvation through grace (this is also on chick.com). Constantine used the Alexandrian text, which actually has verses MISSING from the real text (compare any version with the King James Version - specifically 1 John 5:7 for one of MANY examples). The King James Version used the Textus Receptus. Again, to read even more on the history of the Catholic Church, go to that website, www.chick.com.

So, what do you have to fear? If I'm wrong, both you and I will end up in heaven, because we each have our way, right? However, if you're wrong, you'll regret it for all eternity, realizing you've been lied to. Either way, it's up to you. Make your own god in your own image (second Commandment broken), and when the Antichrist comes, you'll be one who takes his number and ends up damned forever (by your own choice, NOT God's!). If you die before then, then you'll also see how you've been lied to. Again, check out the website. If I'm wrong, you have nothing to fear. But make 100% sure you're right, not based on your feelings, but based on facts. For, when you stand before God, and try to blame Him, He'll show you how wrong you've been and how He's tried to reach you with the truth, but you didn't like it, so you went your own way. Please, make sure this doesn't happen. Do the research, then make up your mind! You don't know how much longer you have to live, and God loves you and is calling for you. God bless you!

Well, if Jesus wasn’t who He said He was, then He didn’t have to die, and we Christians are the most pathetic of all peoples. But, if He is God, whom He claimed to be, then, you’ve better make sure you’ve got the right way. As for “we are gods”, this is from Psalm 82:6, quoted by Jesus in the Gospel of John. Here’s Chuck Smith’s commentary:

This is a direct reference to Exodus, chapter 22, where God does refer to them as Eloihim, which is translated, as I said, judges, but it is the Hebrew Eloihim, gods. Now Jesus quoted this in the gospel of John when the Pharisees were getting ready to stone Him. He said, “I’ve done a lot of good things among you, for which of these things are you going to stone Me?” And they said, “Not for the good things, but we’re stoning You because You being a man are continually making Yourself the Son of God.” And He said, “Well, I said that ye are gods. Why should you stone Me because I say I’m a Son of God?”

Also, go on to read the next verse, where God tells the people, though they are gods, they will die like men (though they have authority they will perish like everyone else). If you take this to mean that you’re the god of your own world, then ok. Satan told Eve the same thing, that she could be like God if she just disobeyed and ate the fruit. Now, we’re paying for that mistake.

As for the Catholic Church (I was raised Catholic and know what it says) says that salvation is never assured. That, if you are a good Catholic, doing all the rituals, you’ll end up in purgatory being purged by flames for some time (no one knows how long), then you may end up in heaven.

If the Catholic Church were truly Christian, they would teach what the Bible – what you say they supposedly gave us – says. However, just as I mentioned above, they teach a salvation by works and rituals theology (again, I was Catholic, raised, for twenty years, I know this! And if you were taught Catholicism, you should realize what I’m telling you is the truth!).

He never taught repentance of sins or belief in Christ, but only sprinkled water on his soldiers and suddenly they were “christians”.
The Catholic church is not Christian?
For any Christian that does not understand their history and then force their version of their truth on another is abysmal. Ignorance is not bliss. All of the other diatribe is plain and simply religious fear mongering. The teachings of Jesus says that we are all gods. God is in us and we are in God. "The kingdom of heaven is within." All that is Christian dogma today was started by the Roman Catholic Church. Including the canonized bible that you read and quote. if you do not understand that then I would have to question anything else that you have to say and categorize you as someone that is uninformed and ignorant of your religious history.

Thankfully Jesus was not Christian. Unfortunately his teachings have been misunderstood, misused and twisted by The Church for centuries.

I am free from your fear of hell because I did search and find the teachings of Christ are much deeper than Christian doctrine and dogma.

If your truth has a hell, so be it. My truth does not have a hell nor a Satan.

Men of the Catholic Church elevated Christ to God status. Christ wanted us to understand our status as gods in the universe, just like him.

May the god in you one day recognize the god in us all and know that we are all graced by God weather we believe and accept Christ as the savior or not.

I no longer have to search for that which is a part of me and my life everyday.
