hey Palma, "I am wondering if, just like LOA is a composite of several laws, the principle of Yin and Yang is a composite of the two."
I think of polarity as like two sides of t he same thing, dual sides or duality, like a coin. Gender is two different things coming together to create something else. yin and yang is two different types of energy, polarity is the same energy. If hot and cold come together you get warm. simply a different temperature on the scale. bring the yin of and electron together with the yang of a proton and you create a whole new state of matter, an element.

You hit rythym right on the head. I like your explanation.

You can find the kybalion online at www.kybalion.org. it is the kybalion word for word.

"Have you ever explained something and in explaining it helps you understand the concept better?" - Yes, every time! There were times when a question was asked, with a perspective that I didn't think of before, and I literally "channeled" the answer in front of the class. :-)

So, if I understand correctly what you are saying:
Law of Polarity - opposite (dual) aspects of the same thing
Law of Gender - opposites (not necessarily of the same thing) attract

I am wondering if, just like LOA is a composite of several laws, the principle of Yin and Yang is a composite of the two. Because they turn into each other, being aspects of the same thing. But they can also be attracted to each other, while they are in the opposite state. I will have to look more into this.

Right, vibration is harmony, and that is interesting, because I was doing research on a post about sound... The Law of Rhythm is then about the eternal movement, the constant motion. What I am still trying to grasp is that in order for something to vibrate, it has to move (up and down, back and forth), even if at the smallest possible, unnoticeable scale...

Oh, wait, it's about the cycles, the tides, that kind of movement. Everything is cyclical in nature, what arises will come to pass and arise again. Rhythm in that sense, right?

What I am trying to do, is to assign the Laws to the ones I have learned under different names and explanations, to make the picture clearer in my mind. I am very intrigued by the Kybalion! :-)

Palma thank you for asking questions. They are excellent questions. Have you ever explained something and in explaining it helps you understand the concept better? As an educator by trade, I always love it when my 8th grade students ask me questions, they force me to think of a concept in different ways. I have to get out of my head into theirs. thank you for the opportunity to get out of my head. For the law of polarity a good visual is to consider thermometer that is straight up and down. The thermometer has two opposite ends hot on one end cold on the bottom. With polarity one can move up and down the scale of temperature. where hot stops and cold begins is based on perception. Think of gender as a way things fit together. I like the yin and yang symbol because I can imagine it in a petri dish constantly in motion. The energy is never static in the dish. Gender is how the universe is drawn to its opposites, as in male and female, negative and positive. I think of polarity as in the dual nature of the universe. example good and evil, love and hate, hot and cold, pepsi and coke  ok bad example. They are all the same thing just as opposite ends of the poles. Picture Gender as masculine (probing) and feminine(receptive). The probe is attracted to that which can receive it. An electron seeks a proton, a male seeks a female. when new atoms are formed an element is created. When male and female come together a child can be created.

vibrations is harmony. Music can sound great when it is in harmony. rhythm is movement, back and forth, up and down. picture a recking ball as rhythm, in order for the ball to knock down a wall it has to build momentum. Each swing of the ball back and forth produces a wider arc and more momentum. it will swing just as far to the left as it will to the right. Emotions can swing from happy to sad. A saying that illustrates rhythm is, "how can you enjoy the peaks if you have never been in the valley"?
I hope this can clear up the subtle differences. If not please ask more. It is really helpful.

I will now have to ponder as to why the Law of Polarity and the Law of Gender are two separate laws. I am creating neural pathways to grasp the subtle differences... :-)

When I think of the Law of Polarity, the first thing that comes to my mind is the concept of Yin and Yang. The two extremes at the opposite poles, being part of one. Like day and night, hot and cold, as you explain. But Yin is also the feminine, and Yang the masculine...

It's interesting, because as the Laws work together, they seem to overlap into each other. For example the Law of Vibration and the Law of Rhythm. Vibration is rhythmic in nature already... wondering why there is a separate law stating that, that the first one is not doing.

This is all very interesting, Reginaldc, and makes one want to explore the Laws even more!
