Hello and an introduction
By
Although I am not a religious person I have been reading the bible. I have found it very interesting from the stand point of looking at spiritually. In other words, I am not reading it to learn the ways of Christianity and religion but to learn what Jesus may have been saying about new age topics that we discuss today. For example in new age literature and lore we speak of a universal consciousness that we are all a part of. I wanted to see if Jesus may have made comments to that effect rather than saying belief in him as the son of God was the only way to heaven. As a non religious person if there is a heaven I don’t believe that through Jesus is the only way to get there. I don’t believe Jesus was teaching that limited view either.
After discovering for myself that Jesus spoke figuratively (John 16:25 New International version bible) a whole new understanding of his teachings opened up for me. What I realized is that Jesus and his teachings had implications of going much deeper into the existence of man than he was able to do. I believe that he was limited by the ability of the people of the time to understand his concepts. The fact that he delivered the concepts in parables and in a figurative manner of speech most of the time made understanding the teachings even more difficult for the people of that era. I believe that until recently what he was attempting to impart has been obscured for most people over the centuries. Science has started to open up a number of questions into the existence of man and his place in the universe. We have a whole body of knowledge that is coming to light about so many things that are relevant to our physical and spiritual lives.
What I now understand is that Jesus did not mean for his teachings to be the final word on how to live your life. They were meant to teach man to search within. That God was not outside of man and dictating his every move ready to strike him down if he made the wrong step. That seems like such a simplistic and childlike view of our existence. Jesus told his disciples before his crucifixion that he had more to tell them (John 16:12-16). Jesus had more to tell them but he said it would be more than they could bear.

Looking at it from this stand point will be a jumping off point for me into the many areas that Jesus did not get a chance to relate to all of his disciples. I suspect that much of what Jesus was teaching came from the same places as much of the discoveries about our human existence in the spiritual world has come from today. It seems that we are making so many discoveries of ancient text and new knowledge that was old knowledge. Jesus was a healer, psychic, teacher, orator and most of all human. He was attempting to tell and show man what we are capable of on this earth. He said that we would be able to do things greater than him (John 14:12). I believe that much of the new age information is what Jesus was going to impart. His teachings were the beginning and a small part. Not the end and the whole of it all. We have to be reminded that there were other gospels that were not included in the official bible.
Many of the parts of his teaching that were put into the bible did have an agenda. That Agenda was to promote a new religion and control the masses. Spirituality has a liberating affect because it empowers you. Religion makes you a slave to mass accepted thought. I like many others choose the empowering nectar of knowledge. Not the confining yokes of religion. My hope is that you will learn. My passion is to inform.
I talk much about Jesus and Christianity because that is what I was raised on. It is what I know. My articles will about science, religion, spirituality, metaphysics and the different aspects that each play in our lives. We humans live a vast existence. My writing will touch on many parts of our human existence and will weave and connect it all. Welcome and enjoy.
