Faith is unnecessary when you experience God
BySome fellow metaphysicians and I were discussing a couple of ideas on yesterday. The ideals of faith and love are universal. When those ideals are talked about in terms of God there seems to be a breakdown in the ideals. Here’s what I mean:
The Definition of faith is the belief in things unseen. By that definition many of us have faith that there is a God. We can’t see God but we can have belief that he/she/it exist. The Term God is so limiting and charged so I will use ALL THAT IS. The definition of faith is also limiting because it takes a scientific position, the belief in things unseen has a connotation that since we can not see ALL THAT IS we have to have the faith that he/she/it exist. When one KNOWS ALL THAT IS exists have you moved past faith?
Personally I can have faith that Corn Flakes will be on the shelf when I get to the grocery store. I can have faith that my tires will remain inflated as I drive. I can have faith that a snickers will have peanuts when I bite into it. All those things I am faithful about. But when it comes to God/All That Is? I KNOW there is something greater than me. I don’t see it, but I have felt it many times over. ALL THAT IS is more than we can imagine. I believe that is so because we so often want to personify a FORCE, an IT. That goes into our second discussion.
Love, I won’t try and define it because it means many different things to everyone and rightfully so. We were discussing what love is. I should be more specific. We were discussing what unconditional love is. Our conclusion was that unconditional love in not an emotion. So many of us have tied emotion to the word love. However, for anyone to give the gift of love unconditionally it has to be void of any emotion. Unconditional love is a decision for humans. For example, a mother can love a child unconditionally. In order for ALL THAT IS to love all of his creation unconditionally it can not be emotionally tied to any part of its creation. IT Is NUETRAL. The FORCE of ALL THAT IS is unbiased and non judgmental. ALL THAT IS loves a sinner like a saint. All THAT IS will not help you over your perceived enemy. ALL THAT IS will love you whether you profess to Jesus being your savior or not. ALL THAT IS/God is not a human, IT is a Force, a Presence, an Energy. Name it all that you want, just don’t hang human emotions and failings on ALL THAT IS. ITS love is unconditional. It is our gift and we don’t have to do anything more to receive it than exist in this universe.
That is such a wonderful thing to KNOW.

Reginaldc, you are making some great points. The difference between faith and knowing is very important. Faith is based on a strong belief of the existence of something unseen. But knowing is experiential. We have experienced the existence of the unseen, and we move from belief to certainty. When we know, we become “it”. It’s no longer something we are reaching out to.
Unconditional love ties in with that knowing. It’s no longer an emotion, but a state of being. It’s supreme Love that has transcended the emotions. While we “feel” love, we cannot but “be” unconditional love.
