Do you have the strength to to love and validate yourself?

By Reginald Martin

There was a time long ago that individuals charted their own path. We were guided by our own intuition and it was sufficient for making decisions. As society has grown more complex we have become more and more dependent on mass media to tell us how we should interpret our world. We have become dependent on “experts”, specialist, consultants and therapist to tell us when we are ok or not. We allow larger organizations to dictate to us what our beliefs should be on so many areas of our life. It’s as if we don’t have an identity unless we identify with a group.

“87 percent of society forms it’s opinions based on the beliefs and opinions of others. That leaves only 13 percent of society that form their own opinions.” The esoteric agenda documentary

The need to fit in and belong

This tendency for modern society to have to belong or fit in is a major hindrance for the overall growth of society.  When I say growth I mean spiritual growth. I don’t mean in a religious sense. Many people will equate religion and spirituality. But they are not the same. Religion does have some spiritual aspects that are a part of it. The ideals of religion are of the highest order. But the practice of it has been a major detriment to society because of the need to conform to certain religious doctrines and ideals. This need to have people conform to a certain belief or thoughts produces an attitude that others that do not fit the ideals must be changed. Those that do not fit certain ideals are therefore on the wrong side. As human beings we can become so passionate and vehement about our beliefs that we loose site of the other person or group. There have been millions that have died in the name of religious Gods. They have died in wars because they were not on the side of the “righteous.”Alone in a Crowd

Spirituality on the other hand does acknowledge certain aspects that religion does. I see many people today that call themselves atheist simply because they no longer identify with many contradictory aspects of organized religion. It’s not that they do not believe in a “God”, just not the “God” of organized religious groups. Like many of us and religions they have a spiritual belief that there is something more to life and something greater than themselves. But they can not stomach organized religion. This was my belief for sometime many years ago. I have sense made some realizations that I feel allow me the impetus and room to develop along a spiritual path and allow for the imperfect being that I am. I like to say that I am perfectly human. An oxymoron if there ever was one because there is nothing perfect about me or us as the human race.

What are we?

Spiritually I believe that we are a soul that incarnated to experience physical life.  Ancient philosophies and religions have acknowledged the aspect of a soul for millenniums. They have acknowledged a greater existence to being human. They have acknowledged our connection to each other, the earth and to the universe, physical and non-physical. It is only in recent history that we have grown so sophisticated that we believe in the scientific mantra that our reality is one that is a separate existence from each other and that nature is something we should control and have dominion over rather than coexist with nature. It is a limited and limiting belief that  ”real” can only be experienced via our fives senses of taste, touch, hearing, seeing and smell.

The Five senses are limited

Even the definition of faith, as in faith in “God”, takes on a scientific bias. For most, when it comes to faith I believe it takes on a limited perspective. Here is what I mean:

For most, the definition of faith is a belief in things unseen. This implies that if you visibly/physically see a thing you no longer require faith because it is confirmed. It is now “real” because you can observe it. Since God/The ALL is not physical and can not be seen then it must be taken on faith that there is an Force that many call “God.” This leaves a gigantic hole for spiritual development in my oppinion. This is why:

“God” is something that can only be “proved” on a personal level. Another way I would put it is that God can only be experienced in one’s own personal way and we do not need to “prove” it to anyone. Once a person experiences their concept of “God”,  is a belief in things unseen; or faith in “God” really necessary sense the non-physical presence called “God” will never be seen by the physical eye? “God” is confirmed but by purely subjective means.

Faith absolutely has its place in society. For example, during difficult times we must have faith that our circumstances will change. We must have faith that our world will change for the better. There are many practical applications of faith. We must have belief that these unseen things can come to pass even though they may not have manifested. We must have faith to create our reality. Here is a link to an article I wrote titled “A practical lesson on the tool of faith to manifest your desires.” This will give you more detail on how we may apply faith.

We all experience in different ways

The problem or issue has been that in organized religion there has to be conformity to what “God” is. They have tried to define an infinite force in the context of a finite experience and finite languages of individuals and humanity. There are many times that words can not explain a spiritual experience.

There are as many ways to experience “God” as there are people on earth. No one belief system has the answers for everyone. In order for the human race to grow we must realize that our spiritual existence is personal and allow for others to have their personal experience. There are an infinite number of ways to experience the existence of The ALL. You must KNOW that your way to have that experience is just as valid as anyone’s, but yet realize it is not the ultimate experience.

You must experience “God”  for yourself

I would say to have “faith” that there is a “God” is to devalue and discount your personal experience in connecting to “God”. When one experiences “God” faith is unnecessary. You KNOW “God” is real for you. Not because you saw “God” but because you had a direct experience and feeling that only you can verify and/or identify for you and in your own unique way. Are you strong enough to validate your own experience and be ok with it? Can you stand alone in your personal experience with “God”? That does not mean that others may can’t or won’t share your experience. But if no one else does identify with you can you be ok with it? Do you need the validation of other people or a group?

When you can move to the point of your own spiritual validation, only then can you work towards realizing the highest form or your true self. You can do this work in the spirit of being perfectly human in all your human imperfections without judgment and condemnation of others. But most important without judgment and condemnation of yourself.

We can then allow everyone to move at their own pace and in the direction that feeds their soul. validating their own experiences. When we can love who we are and know we are on a journey the world will be a place of magic and majesty. We will then know and love who we are as an individual and respect and love the “God” in our selves. When we can recognize the “God” in our selves we can respect and recognize the “God” in another. We will no longer need to force our experience and beliefs on others. At that time all wars will cease. I have faith that this will occur.

When one is religious one must have faith there is a “God” and conform to the definition of that group. When you grow spiritually you can validate your own experience without the need to belong to the group. You can stand alone within your own subjective experience. One must be brave and strong but realize that you are uniquely and beautifully human and just as beautiful and unique is your experience. Love and validate you.

Your last statement is stupid and as un-biblical as anything Ive ever seen. Faith is the principal of our salvation…Are you just talking to talk or have something to fill space on paper.

Christians are always so loving and demure on my blog. NOT! LOL! What gave you the idea I was attempting to be biblical? Obviously you need to have faith there is a God. I don’t, I experience what you might call God in so many ways that I KNOW “HE” exists. You make my point about religion. Because you feel you have the truth for everyone you will attack and defend “your truth” at the expense of any human being that does not see it as you do. Christians, Muslims and Jews pray to their God for strength to kill another part of his creation daily. You and others believe you are righteous in your truth. In your estimation my statement is and I quote “stupid and un-biblical.” You are entitled to your opinion. I will not attack you because you do not see my truth as I do. You may not understand this but,THERE IS NO TRUTH THAT IS ABSOLUTE. Religious dogma wants to make it so. It is the reason so many religions can justify attacking and/or killing in the name of God. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog.

A beautiful aspect of truth is that it does not need to be defended – it can stand on it’s own.

As Reginald said there no truth that is absolute. Truth is largely a matter of perspective.

Therefore just because I’m right and we don’t agree, it doesn’t mean you’re wrong and vice versa.

I happen to agree with this post and the perspective of this site.

Thanks for sharing your wise perspective

Thank you for stopping by and your input Robert. Truth is and always will be colored by perception. It is the nature of consciousness.
