How to control your thoughts, or can you?
ByAre you a person that is starting to come to the belief that you are the creator of your reality? Have you heard over and over that your thoughts are creating the reality that you have now? Do you get to the point that you don’t want to think because you fear thinking the “wrong” thing? Do you think something and then say to yourself, oh no I want that thought back because I don’t want it to manifest? Maybe you wish thoughts could be like a long spaghetti noodle that you could just slurp back up when gets out. I am visualizing a plate of spaghetti and you leaning over it slurping the noodles.
Well have no fear, there is a way for you to monitor your thoughts. I will give you a very simple technique that you can use to know your Pervading thoughts at any time and change them if you wish.

How many thoughts per day?
Let’s pretend you have four thoughts thoughts every second and you sleep 8 hours each night. That equates to 240 thoughts per minute, 14,400 thoughts per hour and 230,000 thoughts per day! The truth of the matter is that it is probably more than that. You think in pictures, words, feelings, sounds and they can all come together to produce memories of something that you think might happen in the future and any combination of the past, present and future. It can be mind boggling to believe that you can “control” thoughts at any time.
Thoughts operate based on universal laws as do anything else. Believe it or not thoughts are attracted to each other. (Thinking about one thoughts pickup line to another, “come here often?”)
They have there own vibrations and therefore will attract others that vibrate in harmony with them. It is the law of the universe that like attracts like. Thoughts are also conscious and unconscious. (“POWER TO THE PEOPLE!” a conscious thought)
okay, what I mean is, you are thinking something ALL THE TIME whether you are aware of it or not. So how can something be controlled when you are not even aware of it?
A simple way to monitor thoughts
The simplest way I have come across in monitoring thoughts is to realize what you are “feeling” at any time. Thoughts often times produce emotions in us. The emotions can be deemed negative or positive. Emotions are simply communication from your inner being or soul. Emotions are a physical manifestation of a nonphysical process. Just like visualizations and memories, emotions are not stored or have a compartment in the physical body. Science can locate where they might register in the brain but they can not locate a compartment where any of these phenomenon are housed in the physical body. That’s because they come from the metaphysical realm. In other words emotions are how your body reacts to the input from your inner being or soul.
When you are feeling negative emotions it is your inner beings signal that you are not producing or creating in the moment that which you truly wish to have or be. At that time you are thinking thoughts and producing images that are creating or will be creating scenarios in your reality that you don’t want to have. Your inner being or soul is letting you know that you need to change the direction of your thoughts. When you start to change those thoughts they will attract others like it. Hopefully you will be changing them to more positive thoughts. That is when your inner being is letting you know that you are creating your reality as you wish it to be. In other words, you are moving in the direction that is true for you.
Monitoring all your thoughts is impossible
You can not possibly monitor every thought. But you can start to monitor your moods at any given time. At first this will seem difficult as well. It simply takes patients and practice. Once you realize your mood, trace your thoughts to what may have triggered the mood. If the mood is negative and you have traced the thoughts to something negative simply insert thoughts and visualizations of the opposite nature. You may need something more than just thinking the opposite thoughts to stem the tide of negative feelings and emotions. What you can then do is physically do something you enjoy. Something like listen to your favorite music, take a walk in the park, pet your cat or dog, snuggle with your significant other. In other words do something to change your mood to the positive and then you can change your thoughts.
Trying to monitor, 230,000 thoughts per day is not practical. However, you can monitor your emotions and how you feel at any given time. Let your emotions be your guide to creating your reality. When it feels good, let the thoughts flow in that moment you are operating as your authentic self. When it feels bad, stop and change the mood. It is always a choice. You are a creator, not a victim. Don’t let uncontrolled thoughts hold you hostage to a reality that you do not desire. You are powerful beyond belief.
I have a question. I am very aware of the Law of Attraction and watched the DVD many times and I feel great after I do. My main desire is for truth and knowledge of all things and I must say I’ve been receiving that desire for a good while now and it keeps coming and I love it. Yet I do realize that we are here in this physical plane and I believe we should be able to enjoy this experience. I realize now that it is I who create my thoughts be they negative or positive. When it comes to thoughts and attracting those things that come to you, is it that which you dwell on or is it what you desire. I mean, who doesn’t want a nice house, car, and nice clothes, not to mention a nice bank account. I have a desire for these things and I think about them from time to time but NOT from the perspective of what I don’t have but what I desire. And it feels good when I envision walking around in my kitchen that’s decked out in stainless steel appliances. Is it necessary to think about more for it to manifest or is the desire enough to bring it about?
Thank you…

Hi Darius, you asked, “is it that which you dwell on or that which you desire?” You ask excellent questions. This is where not understanding what the ego does in physical reality can be such a contradiction and make physical life difficult. Please do not take that statement as aimed at you. I mean it as in a school of thought for so many religions and spiritual schools of thought. The basic thought being that anything to do with physical life is a curse that we should overcome.
Desire, comes for an egocentric point of view. It is what you want to obtain for you. Society tends to judge certain desires as on a higher plane than another. This is not true. Everthing in our universe is energy. intent ALWAYS shapes and/or directs energy. A desire is you putting out your intent on how you wish to shape that energy for your enjoyment. Or to create a scenario for you to work through (emotional and physical pain). Desire is like shooting a flare into the sky, or in this case, the universe. You are sending a message to the universe to let it know what it is that you wish to attract to you. Your thoughts are are the wall that blocks your desires, or the track that allows the desires to come to you, or manifest. Emotions are the speed control for your desires.
What, gets in the way often times are our beliefs. Beliefs are thoughts that are tied to imagination and emotion. This can be the block to manifesting what we desire. Beliefs can be the onion that we have to work through before we can manifest our desires. The law of attraction is a good initial concept, but I am afraid it can be misleading. Manifesting our desires is a lot more than just positive thinking. You really have to dig into your beliefs. That is where the work comes in manifesting any desire. There are often times hidden beliefs that are an energy block.
Unfortunately, many of us have our beliefs set on automatic pilot. We have unconscious beliefs that are rarely examined. When we are talking about attracting what we want, it is not enough to just think positive in most cases. It does help, if you consciously repeat the positive thoughts, like an affirmation. But if one has not dealt with the beliefs surrounding the desire it can be an up hill battle to manifest the wanted desires. Its that dang onion that will get us! until we peel away the layers, we can shoot up that flare of desire, and then have a thought that stops the momentum. We can do this unconsciously at times.
Hope this helps. If I need to clarify, please ask.
Hey, Hey…
“Please do not take that statement as aimed at you.” My brother, if I was afraid of the answers, I would not ask the questions… There is only “One”… There is only one master/teacher, and only one disciple/student… The master “is” the disciple, and the disciple “is” the master… The teacher “is” the student, and the student “is” the teacher… There is only “ONE”… Everything, truly “IS”, everything… Feel Me?
Now, back on point… Or, let me just say this… My brother, you have so much insightful information, and I have been looking for this… Not so much the information, yet your willingness to be accessible and responsive. Thank you much…
I see the big picture, always have; I’m just working out the details…
My desires go way beyond my simple physical wants and needs… If there are a doors of truth to be opened for humanity, I live to be one key, to one of those doors…
There is an aspect, of being, on this physical plane that can be manipulated by those who know the truth, yet turn it up-side-down… I wonder, what could it be…
Peace&Love

Hi Darius, You said
Your physical wants and needs are often times the impetus to lead you to your truth. Sometimes it is the pain of a lost love that my cause us to search for meaning in our lives. Or maybe we lose a job and it forces us to reassess our direction in our lives. It has been my personal experience that I have made my biggest leaps of spiritual discovery after my darkest and most painful moments. Without that physical push, I would not have grown spiritually.
You will not reach a higher spiritual plane by denying the physical body or looking at it as simply a necessary evil. Your body is the physical manifestation of your soul. You (the soul) created it. You will nourish it or starve it. It is beautiful. It is perfectly human and all its’ imperfections. Believe it or not, our physical bodies are keys to changing the universe. As crazy as this may sound to many, there are teachers outside of this physical plane that would love the opportunity to experience this dimension. The only way they can do this is through your physical body. It is an asset to the universe. Only we humans have forgotten how beautiful and majestic our physical body and all it components is.
Do not go beyond your physical wants and needs. Allow them to aid you on your spiritual journey.
“Your physical wants and needs are often times the impetus to lead you to your truth. Sometimes it is the pain of a lost love that my cause us to search for meaning in our lives.”
[The pain, Ohhh... The PAIN... If not for the “pain” of this “life” I would not have known the “Beauty” of the leaves as they change color, signifying death in: Autumn, and birth in: Spring... Does not Nature teach that all things end... and... begin again?]
“You will not reach a higher spiritual plane by denying the physical body or looking at it as simply a necessary evil.”
[There is a joist that supports the platform/foundations of the levels of consciousness. The one common denominator: That being the “Soul”. More directly, the “Universal Soul/DAЇMON” in which ALL other “souls” are a direct part of... Our Physical bodies being a manifestation of all that WE are... It is only when one sees the “BIGGG PICTURE” that one begins to understand what is meant by the saying; We Are ONE... WE ARE THE ONE...]
I love what you say. I’ve had this sense for a long while that something that is beyond my reach is actually going to happen. It is a deep seated feeling that I can’t let go of and stays with me in sleep and daydreams. Am I just in a trench or should I trust that this is something my higher self knows? Because when I stop and think rationally about what I “feel” it seems that I must be a fool to feel that way because it is an impossible thing that I imagine. But then I will find myself back in the same trench and waiting almost expecting my deepest desire to somehow unfold. How do I get out of my own way or alternatively move on?

Hi Mary,
Thank you for the kind words.
when reading your words it sounds as though you already know the answer. Often times we do get in our own way. We have to at times allow that “feeling” that just seems right and flow with it. Our intuition most times is not rational or logical as we have viewed it. But, that is how the brain processes a message from our higher self. It can be just an urge to do something or go a certain direction. We don’t know the how or the why, but we just “feel” it is right. Western thought puts a premium on the logical and rational. But sometimes our physical self can not know the how or the why that the higher self as orchestrated for our greater good.
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! We just don’t always know the how. Life can be magical when we do follow our intuition. think of our higher self as having a higher vantage point. It can see waaay farther down the road than our physical brain can comprehend. We have known this as a species intuitively. We all have heard the saying, “let go and let God.” How many times have you heard people say they just stopped worrying about whatever was troubling them because the knew they could do no more? How many times have you heard of seeming miracles occur when they quit trying to physically control the outcome and just let what happens happen?
It’s not a coincident.
To answer your last question. Do trust that intuition. It is you. It is that part of you from a higher perspective that is giving you guidance. Accept it and trust it. You KNOW when it FEELS right. The physical mind is meant to PERCEIVE physical reality, not how it comes about. Our higher self knows how it comes about and can orchestrate for us all that we desire.
Let go and let god or your higher self. Whatever you prefer. it’s what’s right for you. But it works.
Hi there! Great post, you seem down to earth. I’ve been into the LOA for awhile now, but something still confuses me. Some people say that you should inject a lot of emotion into your visualizations and others say that you should act like it’s no big deal, because if you were living the life in the visualization you wouldn’t be like “WOW!” it would be pretty normal. What do you think?
Cheers

Hello Jajon,
thank you for the kind words.
You ask an excellent question.
Yes emotion is very important. I would say it is the most important aspect of your desire. It is the speed control of your manifestations. The more emotion you put with your visualization the faster it will move to manifestation.
The aspect of acting like it is no big deal is sometimes called the law of detachment. With this aspect one simply removes themselves from “wanting” a particular outcome. You simply detach from the outcome.
You can look at it this way. Your desire is like a locomotive. The emotions you attach to that desire is like the speed control. Detachment is like having oil on the tracks. the oil is like removing friction, or resistance. Being attached to a desired outcome can often times act like a brake to obtaining your desires. The more you become attached to the outcome the more resistance you will offer to the universe. Detachment is what Abraham-hicks would call the art of allowing. Joy and passion are the optimum speed controls.
I hope this helps.
Detachment from a particular outcome. Ok, I think I get that! It’s like allowing space for different possibilities to manifest rather than limiting it to one particular way. In the past, sometimes I’ve found a manifestation would occur really fast after I put out a strong intention and then went completely silent inside. Maybe it created a space for the manifestation to drop down.

Sounds to me like you got it.
