Why is it that in the world of religion and spirituality certain subjects are seen as negative even when they bring such passion out in us? It is always a constant judgment of what is good and evil. Many times the lines are so blurred we can’t know where one begins and the other ends. We decide on arbitrary divisions that a person or an organization in power will set for the masses. The problem is that the messages can be so contradictory or against human nature that we get totally confused or just turn off our faculties of reasoning. One of these polarizing concepts is sex. Sex can be so wonderful but yet have so many negative connotations attached to it in religious circles.

Have you ever considered what the root cause of a type of thinking that would make something as good as sex, so bad? So bad that we are supposed to feel guilty or shameful for just thinking about it and God forbid if we enjoy it.  I like getting to the root of things because it really tends to shed light on contradictions. Religious doctrines are a contradiction because desiring sex is as natural a breathing and yet in many religious and spiritual circles you should abstain from it for any number of reasons. Sometimes society can get so caught up in “rational thought” that is loses sight of common sense. In religious circles I put sex in this category. I can imagine the first religious person that had sex, looks at his woman and says, “OMG baby! This is so good we can’t let people get hooked on it. we have got to make some rules against it! (whispering) Do you think they know about this?  sex_682_537202a

Guilt is a strong control

At the base of this type of thought is the idea that to be physical in form is somehow a curse. And to enjoy carnal pleasure is automatically a road to spiritual ruin. In other words we are born sinners and/or to be attached to any physical desires or pleasure means that you will never attain a higher level of spirituality. It all boils down to the idea that physical existence is a set back for spiritual attainment and enlightenment. Physical desires are bad unless they are the “righteous” type of desires. It is ok to have a desire for world peace, but it is a detriment to spiritual growth to have a sexual desire. It’s a contradiction because they are both desires but one is perceived as noble and the other is seen as a weakness of the flesh. One is attached to the terrible physical body and the other is simply a high minded ideal. One is supposed to make you feel guilty the other more spiritual. Who decided this? :|

Allow me to submit an idea. I have repeated this idea in many of my articles. The idea is simply this; we are a soul having a human experience. We don’t have a soul, we ARE a soul.

Recently I have been making my way around different forums. Personally I enjoy good discussion and debate. I believe that a good constructive discussion can lead to ideas being tested and consciousness expanding. As spiritual beings in human form we are incarnated on earth to lean lesson and expand our consciousness. The lesson that we learn we take with us for eternity. We all can get so passionate about our beliefs. Name any religion or body of believers such as atheist or metaphysicians and you will get a group of people that will literally fight to the death to preserve their idea of “truth.” That word truth spawns so many fights and self righteous rants. So many believe that the truth is singular and constant. In other words a “truth” is a truth for everyone and should be seen and acted on as such. However, I would like to question this  widely held belief. I would like to question it on some very simple concepts that can be extrapolated to a much broader scale.

Where did relgion get its ideas?

There is an ancient philosophy from Egypt (then called Kemit) called Hermetic Philosophy. It predates all religions. From this land we have had words and concepts passed down to us today. One word in particular still has the name of the originators of the science, which is called Kemistry or Chemistry. The word alchemy was derived from practices developed in ancient Kemit. Hermetic philosophy was so named after a man in Kemit that the Greeks named Hermes or the messenger God. Read More→

There is a part of us that we often times take for granted. On a certain level we know the power of it but in the next breath we will limit that power based on erroneous assumptions that we have learned from conventional science. Conventional science says that we must be able to reproduce or quantify any hypothesis, experiment or condition in order for it to be “real.” In other words at least two people must be able to experience the same phenomenon objectively before it is considered to be proven or justifiable. However, this concept of scientific method discounts the vast part of us as human beings that exists outside of “objective reality. “

Science is too limited

A look at Wikipedia defines Scientific Method as:

To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable, empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.

Because of that definition we have been taught to discount our greater existence beyond the physical. That area has been left to religion. Religion with its doctrines and dogma has not done a very good job of helping us to understand our greater existence either. Instead it inundates us with fear,  superstition and other control mechanisms.imagination

There is so much evidence and observable data that we experience on a day to day basis that we should question those that use scientific method as the only source gathering information about “realty”. So much data is not measurable because it is subjective. How many of us have dealt with a mothers intuition, either feeling it or been the recipient of what she intuits as her child? It’s not measurable, but does that make it invalid? Does that mean it should be totally discounted? or how about when you are in an unfamilar place and the hair stands up on the back of your neck? if you have hair the length can be measured but the feelings that cause it can not be measured.

Are emotions “real”?

One major part of our existence that we discount is what we call “imagination.” one day when society expands its concept of “reality”, past scientific method, we will start to understand the power of imagination. It has been said through the ages that humans are made in the image of God. Since God is not human, nor physical, what could that image be? That image or imagination is our likeness in one aspect to what so many term God. Imagination is not all make believe or hallucinations. It gives us the ability to transcend our physical reality to communicate and interact with a much more vast existence that is our human heritage. It gives us the ability to be gods and create on the physical plane just as God creates the universe. Read More→

Many of us when we start in to middle age will question what is life all about. By this time we have tried to be everything to everybody and fit into a prescribed role that society has put its stamp on as the ideal. We have tried attempted the corporate level climb, we belonged to the right church and right clubs. We have basically done so many things with other people’s interest in mind and yet we come to a point in our lives that we feel unsatisfied and unfulfilled by the present circumstances. We wonder is there more to life than being born, dying and all the bullshit in between. In other words, why do I exist?depressedpeople

I believe that every conscious being in the universe exist for the purpose and joy of creating and expanding its consciousness no matter what level that being exist on. Through creating and expanding its consciousness this being adds to the collective joy of all consciousness in the universe. I believe that that ultimate understanding is that no beings joy is going to be the same as another and that we can allow another to experience its corner of the universe in the way they desire. When enough of us can come to that realization we will cease the need to convert others to the “right” or “righteous” way of thinking and believing.

Consciousness delights in growing

Consciousness will expand. It will turn itself inside out to do so. As human beings that has consciousness as a part of us we seek to expand. If you think back on times when you were the happiest it is probably times when you felt the joy of experiencing something new, creating something new, or just simply enjoying an experience. These are the times that we are living our purpose through our consciousness. It is when we are expanding. When we are not expanding we get bored. When we can’t envision a way out of the stagnation we can become depressed. This is what is happening when we go through a “mid-life” crisis. We feel that we have reached a point that we have gotten all that life has to offer and have become stagnant. We start to search for more meaning. It is a search for expansion of our consciousness and understand our place in the universe. Read More→

When we look at society and the messages that are sent to us as a whole we should really start to ask questions about how we are trained to think. I say trained because we are bombarded by the media with different messages everyday. The messages are sensationalized so that it may capture our attention. When I was first introduced to metaphysics via “the secret” it opened my eyes to a lot of things that we unconsciously do as a society. One of the eye openers is how powerful our thoughts are is creating reality.alg_unemployment_line

Even before being exposed to “The Secret” I knew on some level that how I thought determined my successes and failures. The Secret and its message simply resonated with a part of me that was already aware of the power of thought. As a society many people are waking up to this idea. However, it can be a struggle when the media images we get are based on the least getting the most attention. When we allow the media to influence our thinking we are then living our lives from a 20 percent perspective. Here’s what I mean.

Pareto’s Principle

Pareto’s Principle is much more widely known as the “80/20 rule.”

The principle was suggested by management thinker Joseph M. Juran. It was named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who observed that 80% of income in Italy was received by 20% of the Italian population. The assumption is that most of the results in any situation are determined by a small number of causes.

This rule, of course, has been applied to many different sectors of society and on many different levels. When it comes to human nature it has been applied in terms of 80 percent being the good or positive behavior and 20 percent being the bad or negative behavior. As a society in many instances we base our feelings on the entire world from a perspective of the 20 percent being the focus of what we need to eradicate or change. More often than not it is less than 10 percent of what is going on negative that the media will turn our attention too and thus cement it into our reality if we allow. Read More→
