How to interpret dreams 101
Posted by: | CommentsDreams are often times a mystery. They can often times be mysterious and frightening. Hollywood movies really make us afraid of our dreams in recent years with movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and very recently, the movie Inception.
These movies portrait sleeping and dreaming as something to fear. This is a reason that we really have to look at our filters or perception of our reality. Reality is perception. Everyone views there reality from what they feel it is. If we decide to filter our reality from a perspective of our fears we will only draw to ourselves the information that confirms that reality. There are just as many movies that will confirm positive aspects of our existence, What Dreams May Come, is a movie that comes to mind. However, we will many times blow it off. Sometimes the best way to hide information is in plain sight. Hollywood is no exception. Read More→
What is the language we all share? The universal language of dreams
Posted by: | CommentsI wrote recently about a forgotten way the soul communicates with us. That way is through dreams. What most people have a difficult time with is trying to interpret the cryptic messages of dreams. The language of dreams is the one thing that humans have shared since the beginning of time. Even before there was a spoken language we dreamed. Before words our physical world was associated with pictures. Many cultures drew pictures on cave walls telling their stories. With the advent of the spoken form of language there came a diminishing reliance on visual communication. The visual reliance diminished even more as we became more verbal with our languages than visual. Our ancestors understood the importance of dreams because they communicated with pictures just as our soul did in dreams. The soul had a common language with its physical incarnation. We have forgotten how to communicate with our soul by not understanding the universal language of dreams.
There are thousands of dream dictionaries online with thousands of symbols and definitions. The universal language of the mind is just that, a language. Any language has a context, a grammar and structure to it. Trying to learn a language from a dictionary is impossible without any knowledge of how to use the words in context or a grammatical structure. It’s the same difficulty many of us have had to deal with in trying to learn dream language. Unless you know someone that intuitively understands the structure of the visual language of dreams it can be a frustrating process. A dream dictionary can be helpful but not when it comes to really understanding the language structure of the dream.
The other problem about interpreting dreams is while there is a universal language many symbols are very personal. For example, in my dreams a dog represents a fear for me. In my physical life I am not afraid of dogs but in my dream life I am often times running from dogs. Usually big dogs. I don’t think a Chihuahua would invoke much fear in me at anytime. All the Chihuahua would have to do in the dream is say
“yo quiero taco bell” and I would wake up in hysterical laughter. End of dream.
For another person a dog could be something very calming. The only way to know for sure is to keep a journal of your dreams. You will start to notice symbols and scenarios repeating. Many symbols are personal and a dream dictionary can not always tell you what your personal meanings are.
What I am going to do here is give you a little primer on interpreting dreams with some grammatical structure to it. For the sake of space I will not be able to go into a lot of detail but It will give you a starting point.
Some basics about your dreams.
1. The dream is from the perspective of your soul, which is you. You the soul is communicating from the subconscious to your conscious waking physical self.
2. You, the soul, create every dream and everyone in the dream to send information to your physical waking self. The soul is the director, script writer and producer of the dream. Just as you create your physical reality, you create your dreams. As above, so below.
3. Every person in a dream is about the dreamer and an aspect of the dreamer.
4. The symbols in a dream is the soul telling you what something is LIKE, not what it is. In other words the picture is an association to something in your waking life. For example a dog in my dream is associated with fear. If something is hot then you might see fire associated with it in the dream.
A male in the dream usually is associated with the conscious waking aspect of yourself for a male and subconscious aspect for a female.
A female in the dream is usually associated with the subconscious aspect of yourself male and the conscious aspect of self for a female.
As stated before dreams have a grammar and context to them. I will take the concept of your soul telling you about an idea from beginning level to higher consciousness.
Pregnant = idea being birthed
Baby = new idea
Child = creative developing idea
Teenager = forming of the idea
Parent = a mature idea
Grand parent old or ancient one= wisdom of the superconscious or universal consciousness
Note here the movement through time and how the soul associates time to a stage of human development. Time goes from forming (pregnant) to a developed wisdom represented by grandparents. You can apply this concept of time with many different events in your dreams and many dreams. This is the context or grammar of dreams. The associations are visual not words. A mature idea is like a parent is mature. A new idea is associated with a baby (a new person).
In using this guide you will be able to tell pretty quickly if the dream is about a new idea or one that you may have had from the past or maybe even a past life. Again because of time and space I can’t go into more detail. You can extrapolate the idea grammar to other symbols. For example conscious aspects of yourself. If the person in older than you in your dream it usually means and aspect of your conscious self that is past. If a person is the same age or a contemporary like a sibling, then it is a present conscious aspect of you. to understand the aspect the person represents in the dream, use two words to sum up the personality of the person in your dream. If you do not know the person, it is an unknown aspect of your conscious self.
You don’t even need a dream dictionary to figure out the symbols. Simply figure out the function of the symbol in waking life and associate it to the dream. For example, you dream of a car. What is the function of a car? Maybe to transport you different places? from the perspective of your soul, how does it move from place to place in the physical world? Inside of your body of course! Guess what the car is associated with for your soul? Your physical body! Your soul rides around inside you every day!
The FUNCTION of a car is to transport you. Associated from the perspective of the soul, physical body. If the radiator of your car is over heating in your dream, drink water.
Reacquainting yourself and understanding the universal language of the mind can be a wonderful aid in self development. Any answers you need you already know. You tell yourself in your dreams every night. You do travel when you are asleep, every dream is not the same. After keeping a journal for awhile you will start to notice some differences in your dreams. If you are having nightmares it is simply a message that you have previously ignored and now you as a soul are trying to get your attention and let you know that something needs to be done.
Dreams are another great tool for you to understand and use. You are reading this for a reason. Your soul has guided you here to get this information. It wants you to know how powerful of a being you are. You are a soul living a human experience.

How does the soul communicate with you?
Posted by: | CommentsIn everyday life we go through times that can be trying for us mentally and physically. We often will wish for relief, direction, help in any form that we can get. Other times their does not have to be anything difficult happening but we do want guidance for a path we may want to take and are not sure about. Many people have recognized the benefits of prayer and meditation during these times to ease the stress and come to a conclusion about issues that may be affecting them. Through the ages prayer and meditation have been a staple for the religious and spiritual alike. During these times when we quiet the waking mind is when we can receive information from our soul. I should definitely restate that we are a soul. It is not something we have, it is what we are. When we get communication through prayer and meditation it is our higher self communicating to our physical self. For those of us that do see value in prayer and meditation we realize the impact that it has in our everyday life. It becomes and indispensible part of our everyday ritual.
Prayer and meditation is an accepted form of getting in touch with our higher self. In ancient times there was another way that was just as valid that we seem to have forgotten for some reason. Imagine that you are a movie director. As this director you can pick the cast members for your movie, dictate the setting of the movie and even write the script for the movie. You have carte blanche over everything that is going to happen and the story that your movie will tell. Imagine also that as a director you have an overview of all the scenes that will be acted out in the movie. The movie is your life. The director is you as a soul. As a director you can give your waking self information about the upcoming events. Call it a preview or a trailer. This is
done through the forgotten form of direction from the soul. This forgotten form of direction is dreams. Yes, people, through the ages, have made life altering decisions after having a message sent to them in a dream. Unlike prayer and meditation dreams and the power of them have been largely forgotten by the masses. Probably because dreams can seem so cryptic they are not easy to understand. However, some of the greatest minds to ever walk the earth received messages in dreams. Whether or not you pray and meditate you should take your dreams as a source of information specifically engineered for your benefit.
History is replete with great men and women who had dreams that aided them in some way:
Joseph son of Jacob and Rachel was one of the most famous dreamers in the bible. He was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Through tragedies and triumphs he interpreted a dream for Pharaoh and became a man of power in Egypt.
Calpurnia, the wife of Julius Caesar saw his assassination in a dream.
Harriet Tubman because of an injury to her head she received as a slave had a sleeping sickness. The sickness lead to her finding ways to lead slaves to freedom on the underground railroad. In her dreams she would fly above the area and see the safe passages. She never lost anyone on her travels through the Underground Railroad. Her greatness in talked about in history, but the dream part is usually left out.
Mary Shelly’s book Frankenstein was inspired by a dream.
Abraham Lincoln dreamed of his assassination.
Albert Einstein would ride on a beam of light in his dreams and came up with his famous formula E=MC2.
Paul McCartney of the Beatles heard the song “Yesterday” in a dream. It is one of the most covered (copied) songs in history.
I could go on and on about famous discoveries that have been made through dreams. Medicine and science has many examples of these messages that have changed the world. What if these people did the same as most of us and never considered our dreams, what would the world be like?
One person that we may have wished he did not consider his dream was Hitler. During World War I he was in a fox hole with other soldiers. He dreamed his mouth was filling with dirt and started choking. He woke up frightened, walked out of the fox hole to get some air and moments later a bomb hit the fox hole and killed everyone in it. Because of his dream Hitler escaped certain death. If only he would have stayed asleep. Obviously the universe does not make judgment calls.
You as a soul have a vantage point from a higher plane. You as a soul know the difficulties before they occur in your physical life. In your physical life you have the free will to go any direction you want. There is no right or wrong way to go. There is only the experience you will gain from your decisions that will register with your soul consciousness. The experience you gain will be eternal knowledge. Your dreams can solve mental issues and physical problems. You know the answers from your higher self.
If you are a person that has nightmares it is because your soul is trying to get your attention. It tried with the nice easy dreams and now it needs to shake you to get you to ask, what was that about? It is you as the soul desperately trying to communicate to you in physical life.
What great discoveries have you allowed to pass you by because you do not view your dreams as important? Having family issues? Need to find a job and don’t know where to look? Having money problems and don’t know how to solve the issue? Having relationship issues? Your dreams can answer and help you solve this issues of physical life. If you don’t believe me, then look to history and all the great leaders, inventors, scientist, doctors, business people, entertainers and a host of others that have had help through their dreams. Could you be the next great one? Follow your dreams, you have greatness in you.
Are you a brave soul?

You are more conscious and knowledgeable when you sleep than you ever are awake
Posted by: | Comments
The dream world is one that is very strange and scary for many people. There have been books, movies and songs made about dreams. We go to sleep and all of a sudden we are in this world that is timeless and void of anything we know of reality. As humans we have long been aware that we are conscious. Meaning that we are aware of self or at least what we view as our self in the waking world. What if our consciousness changes at different times and we are not aware that it is doing so? What is consciousness?
This question has been on the mind of man for centuries. So what is consciousness? Looking up the term on google.com these are a few of the definitions of consciousness that come up.
“In common parlance, consciousness sometimes also denotes being awake and responsive to the environment, in contrast to being asleep or in a coma.”
“The analytical, materially-based, rational half of our consciousness. The part of our mind that is at work while we balance our checkbooks, theorize, communicate, and perform other acts related to the physical world.”
“The rational, subjective, linear oriented portion of our awareness. Located roughly in the brain’s cerebral cortex.”
The majority of the definitions correspond to our waking state as the only part that consciousness resides. If our waking self is our conscious self, then what do we become when we sleep? I would say that the vast majority of people will agree with those definitions. We only identify ourselves by our ego state when we are awake. However, to put this limitation on our consciousness is ultimately limiting who we are as a person and our place in the vast storehouse of knowledge in the universe.
When we are asleep, we are more alive and knowledgeable than in our waking state. Our consciousness does not go away it simply changes states. Our consciousness changes states so frequently and effortlessly that we do not recognize when it does and the extent that it changes. Consciousness changes even when we are awake! For example, have you ever caught yourself daydreaming? Have you ever driven somewhere and realized that you have made it to your destination but not remember what you saw or what happened from the start of the trip to the end? You ever read a book and then have to go back over what you read because you did not remember the text and words? Ever talk to someone and realize that they are trying to get your attention back to the conversation?
These are examples of your consciousness shifting. We do it so effortlessly that we barely recognize when we do. We do not fear our consciousness leaving and never coming back in these instances because it is normal. Just as these are shifts in consciousness, so is dreaming. For many of us we actually mistrust our dream state. We fear it. In reality our sleep state is simply another part of our entire being. Not just the physical self. In sleep our consciousness is no longer inhibited by our ego. Our consciousness exits our physical body and does all kind of extra ordinary things. That will be the subject of another post.
However, in the dream state we tap into the universal consciousness. We become more knowledgeable. Have you ever gotten a solution to a problem or heard of someone that has, from a dream? In these instances you are getting knowledge from your higher self and/or from your spiritual guides. When you are going to sleep you can suggest problems that you would like to solve. You can ask a question and often times it can be answered in your dreams.
Unfortunately for many of us our dreams are a jumbled mess. They don’t make sense. This is because our consciousness is so vast that many things that we have access to while on our consciousness travels do not translate into our objective reality. What we remember of our dreams is really a translation that our physical brain has interpreted for us. Our physical brain is simply putting our dream state in a “language” we can understand, so to speak. In our dream state we are no longer bound by the laws of our physical reality. The illusion of time slips away while we are asleep. Have you ever dreamed that events happened over a period of hours or days and you have only been asleep for a few minutes our hours?
My friend, make no mistake. All that I have written you already know. I am simply a conduit for your higher self to connect with you. It is time that you wake up to the knowledge of who you are. As stated before you are far more knowledgeable and alive when you are asleep than you ever will be while awake and in objective reality. It is time for all of us to connect to the universal mind consciously and tap into the knowledge that is ours. You know this. You can intuit this. Now just allow yourself to flow with this.
By the way, if you want to know what it is like when you die then simply explore your dream state. But again, I know you already know that, you just didn’t realize that you know.
